  band featuring master vibraphonist Mattias Ståhl\, presenting jazz inte
 rpretations of classics from the Great American Songbook.\n\nLiam Elion s
 tarted playing the trombone at the age of nine\, initially studying class
 ical music at the conservatory. He continued his education at the prestig
 ious high-school jazz program at the Thelma Yellin High School of the Art
 s. Later on\, as a member of the Global Jazz Institute directed by Danilo
  Perez and the Jazz and Gender Justice Institute directed by Terri Lyne C
 arrington at Berklee College of Music Liam studied under Joe Lovano\, Joh
 n Pattituci\, Linda May Han Oh\, George Garzone\, Kris Davis\, and many m
 ore. He has performed alongside great musicians like Tony Malaby\, Ben va
 n Gelder\, Daniel Fredriksson\, Karin Hammar and Doug Johnson.\n\nMattias
  Ståhl is born 1971 in Oskarshamn\, Sweden and lives in Stockholm. Have 
 the last 20 years performed at stages around Sweden and elsewhere\, focus
 ing on jazz and improvised music. Released two album of his own with his 
 former quartet Ståhls blå ("Ståhls blå" 2001 and "Schlachtplatte" 200
 4)\, which achieved great attention from reviewers all over the world. He
  also composed all the music for this group. As a sideman he contributes 
 in a lot of exciting groups\, from working bands as Martin Küchens Angle
 s and norwegian-swedish I.P.A. with Magnus Broo/Atle Nymo/Håkon Mjåset 
 Johansen/Ingebrigt Håker Flaten\, to projects with legends Georg Riedel\
 , Per Texa…
